An year that went by..

July 21, 2009

Two weeks back, I turned One as a professional 🙂 I thought I would do this post that day itself but blame this corporate world; it never gives time when you want it. The journey so far has been good. Loads of things have changed in this one year, some changes happened even without me noticing them while some things had to change.

–  Yours truly who had no knowledge of what SAP was, a year ago, now corrects everyone who calls it as ‘sap’ and says that it is S.A.P and not ‘sap’. Ki farak padta hai? I really wonder! Anyone working on SAP could probably tell me.

– With no offense to the friends I have made at my work place, I still feel that the friends we make during school and college days are the ones whom we are very close to(isn’t it??). Though we make good friends at work place, it is never the same as the one with our college friends.

-Talking of friends, One year ago, life was all about friends and college. Now that each of us has got busy with our office work and stuff, meeting friends has become very very less. But, thanks to Google groups we are still in touch.

– Call it Monday blues or not, but I am just Loving the weekends like never before. I also started loving the last working day of the month as I would be receiving the salary 🙂

– Shopping per se I haven’t changed much. I am still shopping as much as I did in my college days. The only difference being, earlier I used to shop using dad’s card and now I am using my card 😀

– Though it’s about one and half years that I have started writing a blog, I have been regular in writing from the last year or so. Also, earlier I used to restrict myself by reading blogs of just my friends and people whom I knew in person. But now, the more i read blogs the more i am getting to know different people whom i never met in the real world but share the same thoughts on several issues.

– Last but not the least, when I see my juniors today and listen to all their doubts and questions they come up with in the trainings, I realize that I did give them a tough competition in asking a lot of silly questions last year.

P.S: Hope to write something better the next time other than my ramble.

    tell u wat u software wala’s have a few screws lose…

thats true i guess.. trying to fix the screws of the softwares, i guess we loose ours..
But you Stockmarket people are not far behind us 😛

    Friends and college… sigh…
    sigh
Weekends are best… na… though for me its only sunday but now we leave office early on saturdays… and its a welcome change…
yes..they are the best.. We try to wind up the things early on Friday itself 🙂
Shopping with parents money was so cool… lol 😉 I wouldnt mind going back to those days…
Me too wouldn’t mind going back to those days..
and not to worry about rambling… we are there to digest whatever you churn out…

Congrats on completing one year 🙂 🙂
    Thanks Saritha
Though we make good friends at work place, it is never the same as the one with our college friends.— This is so true mystery.Maybe we don’t spend much time with colleagues as we used to spend with our college friends.
ya, the only time we spend with them is the lunch or 1 or 2 more hours than it while we had all the time in the world.

I used to shop more when i was working,my purse was full, before i used to spend the money given my mom wisely.I used to think let me work, then will spend all my salary on shopping only.
I feel that i have become a miser after earning 😐 Though i earn money now i calculate the expenses i am making and then i feel may be i am spending more. its best when we spend when parents are earning as we wouldnt have to worry about all other things

Congrats mystery on completing a year… truly great know.? 🙂
    Thanks
and we cant make great friends with colleagues because they too will have their own duties and the interactions will be mostly confined with the working hours…
    very True Kanagu
and for spending, after starting to earn, I am spending well…
*hope my mom never hears that*
she always tells me to save something and I am not doing that anyday
lol.. hope she doesnt see this..

Congrats for completing one year !! We make good friends only during our early stages, the friends that we make now are more demanding and opportunistic, na?
Thanks. they might not necessarily be demanding and opportunistic but somehow it never feels the same..

I agree with you frenz made during our college days are usually the best. May be because there always is a possibility of a hidden agenda in office friendship!!!

Anyways happy shopping dear and good luck for being in touch with ur old frenz as after a point life catches upon us and woh kahan hum kahan wala haal hota hai 😦
Thanks Smita. ya there is a slight possibility for that.. hope that i keep in touch with my friends like this..

As for friends – to be honest, I have made some wonderful friends at work too.. Some of my closest are work friends.. Am sure you will come across wonderful people 🙂
And one of the advantages of working in IT is the fact that you get to work in different projects – so get to meet so many many wonderful people 🙂

I too have made at least 2 to 3 good friends in the office..but then at times i feel its never the same like the ones in college..
    Have fun shopping!
